Carl Visser

Carl Visser, born in 1981, followed lessons organ with Henk Braad (intonator of organbuilder Bakker en Timmenga). Before he went to the conservatory he studied at the laboratoryschool in Leeuwarden. From 1999 he get organlessons of Theo Jellema. After private-lessons he went to the Prins Claus Conservatory in Groningen. In 2006 he received his Bachelor-degree with cum laude.
After that, he studied at the Messiaen-academie (part of the ArtEZ-conservatory) in Zwolle. His teacher was Michel Bouvard (Toulouse). With Michel Bouvard he specialized in French Romantic Music. He also followed lessons with Theo Jellema (organ) and Tineke Steenbrink (harpsichord). In June 2008 he received his Master-degree with summa cum laude with a performance in the concert-hall in Enschede (Netherlands) of the organ-concert in g-minor of F. Poulenc for organ, string orchestra and timpani.
In both studies Carl Visser took masterclasses with prominent organ-teachers like Michel Bouvard (Toulouse), Francois Espinasse (Lyon), Ton Koopman (Naarden-Bussum), Louis Robilliard (Lyon) Reitze Smits (The Netherlands) and Wolfgang Zerer (Hamburg).
With Mannes Hofsink he make a ensemble with the name Orgel4Handig. The ensemble has been formed some years ago with the idea to serve the public that comes to this concerts a program with famous orchestra-works. But the people knows the original form, for orchestra. We take the challenge to play it on the organ with 4 hands.
Carl Visser is also active as a organ-teacher and continuo-player in several ensembles were Barokmusic plays a important role.
As organist, Carl Visser is linked on the PKN-churches in Oldemarkt-Paasloo and Reduzum.
